Kleinwort Benson appoints new private banker in Edinburgh

Kleinwort Benson, the provider of banking and financial services to corporate and private clients in the UK and Channel Islands, is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Thomson as a private banker in its Edinburgh office.

Prior to joining Kleinwort Benson, Mr Thomson was at Altus Investment Management Limited in Edinburgh where he was responsible for their Scottish business. Before that, he spent 12 years in New York and London holding various capital markets positions with Barclays Capital and Toronto Dominion Bank.

"Chris’s wide breadth of experience and proven expertise in developing business make him the ideal candidate to join Kleinwort Benson and to add to the success of the bank in Edinburgh," said Mike Batchelor, Area Head for UK Regions at Kleinwort Benson.

Chris joins Mike Smith who has successfully developed Kleinwort Benson’s presence in Scotland, the North East of England and Northern Ireland.

Kleinwort Benson opened the Edinburgh office early in 2006 to assist in creating bespoke wealth management solutions for local individuals. Its regional UK expansion aims to build on Kleinwort Benson’s long-established history of providing wealth management solutions to high net worth individuals, executives and entrepreneurs in the UK.
